I know I am a bit biased but...

Some of these questions could be resolved if much of the "writing" was
done in WikiEducator - collaboration, multiple authors, language
support, current status, version control... Then do some magic and
have it become a "booki" as the booki publishing is first rate. Also
the idea that "finished" products are available here is really
important step in the adoption process.
