[FM Discuss] Writing/Translating manuals ?

Hi,

I'm currently translating the OpenOffice.org manual into Vietnamese.

I'm faced with some questions about how to proceed. I have read the existing
FLOSS Manuals:

and
http://en.flossmanuals.net/FLOSSManuals/TranslatingAManual

However the screenshots do not correspond to the actual situation. E.g. it
is stated "every chapter of the manual will be showed on the screen. You can
translate it or edit it."

However, I have a very limited number of chapters and only the choice of
editing, not translating. I'm adding a screenshot of what I have.

I have proceeded with translating the Introduction in Vietnamese by copying
and editing the English version, then replacing the paragraphs by their
Vietnamese version directly in the English version. I'm not sure it's the
right thing to do so, before going further, I'm asking on advice.
